Build your personal search solution with Alexa

Wow… $1 per CPU hour, $1 per GB/year of user storage, $1 per GB uploaded/downloaded, $1 per 50 GB processed, $1 for every 4,000 user-published web service requests

Who is doing that ? Amazon’s ALEXA new search service, a pretty strong and innovative online search service. For sure, the search giants looking for new revenues opportunities will soon jump and start this business.

There was MyYahoo, MySpace etc, there will be MySearchEngine…and thousands of new web 2.0 services around. We already knew that the online maps, the photo sharing services, the start pages are sources of peer to peer services -another words for the web 2.0, why not ?, in this list we have now to add the personalized & customizable online search engines. Alexa offers today the first one. As a symbol for the future, Amazon -not really a search company is it ?- shows here that in the search industry, the giants are not always the most imaginative players.

I opened an account yesterday waiting to test the service.
